The Role

Overview

Engineering Surveyor for Net Zero Teesside project overseeing survey data, QA, and team.

Tasks

-Carry out QA on design deliverables prior to construction release; -Liaise with senior surveyors, project management, designers, JV partners, subcontractors and supply chain to ensure programmed survey requirements are met. -Ensure site-specific tolerances are achieved for all survey operations; -Collect survey field data, process, and issue deliverables in agreed formats; -Undertake independent survey checks at key construction stages; -Complete QA documentation and comply with hold point checks in line with Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) procedures; -Identify hazards and raise observation cards; ensure safe working practices for self and team; -Supervise and mentor junior surveyors; -Produce as-built drawings and records in survey-specific software; -Provide site engineers with information derived from design deliverables (schedules, digital models, drawings); -Collate survey records to support project commercial management; -Deliver daily safety briefings and prepare Task Briefing Sheets (TBS); -Ensure secure storage and management of historical survey data; -Input into survey material and equipment costing and procurement; -Maintain an inventory of survey equipment and consumables; -Ensure the security, integrity, and sufficiency of survey equipment;

What You Bring

-Strong focus on Health & Safety. -CAA-recognised drone operator qualifications (GVC and/or A2 CofC); -Understanding of geodetic requirements associated with project delivery; -Previous experience in surveying, with exposure to civil engineering projects; -First Aid at Work qualification. -Familiarity with latest survey equipment, GNSS networks, and emerging technologies; -Knowledge of settlement monitoring systems, methods, and technologies; -Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver outputs to programme; -Proficient in IT applications and survey-specific software (e.g. 3DR, N4CE, Infinity, SiteScan); -Effective communication, negotiation, and team-building skills; -Experience of mechanical-focused construction projects; -Membership of a relevant professional body and/or professional qualification, ideally RICS or CICES;
