Overview

Repair, inspect, and maintain rental equipment, handling diagnostics and parts orders.

Tasks

-Reads and understands the manufacturers’ Operation and Maintenance Manual per machine type and complies with its contents. -Communicates effectively with Shop Leads, Shop Coordinators and Managers to ensure problems, nature of repair, and status of repairs are understood and followed up on. -Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs. -Always engages in required safety practices and maintains quality housekeeping in work area. -Assumes yard duties as needed; loads/unloads equipment and cleans returned rental equipment with pressure washer. -Attends training as requested. -Inspects equipment and maintains equipment to ensure safe operation. -Learns and understands how to use the work order system. Completes all documents and parts orders associated with repairs in an accurate and timely manner. Identifies parts for return timely. -Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures with appropriate supervision. -Assist in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining equipment and components. -Adhere to manager’s and lead mechanic’s directions regarding all repairs and service calls. -Inspects machines returned from rental for customer damage and notifies the supervisors regarding any specific damage that was found.

What You Bring

-Understanding of diagrams and schematics -1-3 years customer service experience -Intermediate diagnostic aptitude -Heavy equipment, engine, or mechanic repair experience -Noise: Moderate -High School Diploma or GED -Works effectively with others in the shop and accepts helpful technical advice from others with more work experience. -Heavy work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more -Basic knowledge of Windows/Internet -Safety & Product Knowledge -1-3 years administrative/clerical experience -Work is accomplished to the Service Departments quality standards, within allowed time. -Graduation from a technical school with emphasis on diesel engine preferred -Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Wynne, and ET/SIS/SIS Web/STW -Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, etc. -Understands the operation, function, specifications, capabilities and controls of any piece of rental equipment to ensure all operating controls and functions are in compliance with manufacturers’ specifications. -Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing -Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
