Tasks
-Assist with all Pre-Construction related tasks including -Schedule and Budget Management: Help manage and adjust the project schedule as necessary. Collaborate with the Project Management team to keep the schedule updated. Ensure alignment with the project budget, including labor, materials, and equipment. Assess weekly/monthly cost projections and expenditures with the Project Management team. Oversee the overall site labor, material, and equipment budget for the project's duration. -Collaborate with internal teams, contractors and other stakeholders to align efforts. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. -Communication: Provide guidance on company policy/philosophy as they relate to the team. Assist with clear and transparent communication within the team. Implement department strategies and align team goals with company’s vision and objectives. -Quality Control: Work with the Quality Control team to meet project-specific requirements. Oversee the management of the site-specific Quality Control plan with the QC department and Project Management. Monitor the quality of work to ensure it meets company and industry standards. -Participate as an active member of the McGough Operations Team in Iowa. Contribute to shared goals and collaborate with colleagues on achievement of priorities. -Continuous Improvement: Participate in and support the implementation of Lean and continuous improvement culture. Foster strong partnerships with fellow McGough employees. -Assist with coordination of the development or improvements as it relates to construction processes -Hiring/Training: Participate in hiring/selection process of new team members. Assist with onboarding and training for new hires. Identify skill gaps and plan for necessary training and development. Foster continuous learning and professional growth. -Compliance: Promote ethical behavior and decision-making, handle conflicts and disciplinary actions according to company guidelines. Maintain a safe and inclusive work environment. -Performance Management: Assist with providing management and guidance to the risk team, assist with team assessments and performance, assist with ongoing feedback and annual review process, may address any performance issues and implement improvement plans. Recognize and reward outstanding contributions. -Project Collaboration: Work closely with the Superintendent and Project Management team throughout the project. Assist in selecting subcontractors, writing RFIs (requests for information), and tracking procurement of materials, tools, and equipment. -Leadership and Team Support: Support intentional leadership for the project team in Lean methodologies, standard work, and Pull-Plan sessions. Participate in Pull-Plan sessions, safety meetings, and daily huddles. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, the design team, and subcontractors. Support and follow standard work practices. -Support Superintendent and other leaders with assessments for additional construction opportunities -Help with alignment of budget set for the project including labor, materials and equipment. Work with Superintendent and Project Management team to address issues as they arise. -Leadership: set clear objectives and goals for team. Foster positive and productive working relations by proving guidance and mentorship to team members. -Field Staff and Subcontractor Oversight: Assist in supervising all McGough field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers involved in assigned projects and review weekly work plans, schedule updates, and logistics prepared by Superintendents. Subcontractor and Supplier Management through assisting with the management of subcontractors and suppliers on assigned projects. May take charge of overseeing specialty contractors as needed. Conduct daily huddles, coordinate job site activities, and manage material deliveries. -Documentation and Compliance: Assist Superintendents in keeping all on-site documentation, including drawings, logs, and inspection books, updated and current. Help document As-Built drawings. -Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution: Assist in addressing on-site issues, from scheduling delays to labor disputes, and work to resolve them efficiently to minimize disruptions. -Maintain knowledge of trends in construction industry. -Work with the Superintendent on the relationships with external partners. -Building crisis management plan -Expense Monitoring: Assist in monitoring and tracking project expenses to ensure the project stays within budget. -Safety and Compliance: Assist with job safety meetings and orientations. Ensure all OSHA and other required rules and regulations are met.

What You Bring
-Attention to detail and high level of accuracy -Positive attitude, strong work ethic, innovative and forward thinking -3-5 years of field-related experience -Strong verbal and written communication and leadership skills -Experience initiating and driving continuous improvement -Proficient in computer applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Procore (or equivalent) and Bluebeam (or equivalent software) -Demonstrated experience initiating and driving continuous improvement -Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. -Two or four-year degree in construction -Experience mentoring others -High school diploma or GED required -3-5 years of construction-related experience -Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities -Must be willing to travel regularly -Current OSHA 30 certification -Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision -LEED AP or other green building certifications -Bilingual with the ability to communicate in both Spanish and English
