Tasks

The Production Planning Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely execution of material take-offs based on Fero’s project designs and specifications. This position is also responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project schedules to support project and production execution. This multifaceted role requires a strong understanding of construction drawings and materials, coupled with a meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in Excel, Bluebeam, Fieldwire, and MS Project is essential, particularly in the context of material management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks across various project phases, and committed to ensuring a smooth transition from design through to production. -Creating new items codes when introducing new products and materials -Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures. -Assist in project planning, working closely with production managers and Sr Production Manager in the preparation of plant flow and logistics plans. -Coordinate periodic photographs for relevant records. -Regularly audit and update BOMs to reflect changes in product design or manufacturing processes. -Open/close RFIs and the recording and maintenance of all BOM-related logs. -Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date bill of materials (BOM) for all projects required for production while focusing on lead times, and material specifications. -Review construction drawings to locate and identify material specifications and quantities. -Verify the accuracy of BOM data by including part numbers, quantities and descriptions. -Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing teams to gather information on products and ensure the change management process is executed. -Collaborate with Sales and Project Management to create detailed MS Project schedules for proposals and awarded projects. -Ensure the BOM reflects the most current design and engineering specifications. -Identify opportunities and obtain feedback from other teams to improve the process, efficiency and accuracy for BOM management and implementation -Track and manage change notices and change orders in the database. -Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies or issues related to the BOM. -Act as an liaison across all departments to facilitate effective communication regarding BOM related matters. -Track project progress at various stages and communicate with internal stakeholders. -Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Fero Code of Business Conduct.

-Ability to manage a fluctuating workload and set priorities to meet deadlines and maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with the production team. -Strategic Orientation: Business acumen and ability to understand the drivers, financials, variables and underlying business models our organization utilizes to generate a profit and drive toward being a sustainable organization. Able to anticipate emerging issues or outcomes based on experience and critical thinking. -Minimum 2+ years project planning/coordination experience in a construction or manufacturing environment with preference to modular. -Risk Orientation - Assessment and Mitigation Skills: demonstrates sound judgement in making decisions involving complex information and dynamic situations which complements business performance. Is curious and innovative. -Post-Secondary education in related field. -Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. -Strong technical aptitude, ability to read construction drawings, technical specifications and perform material take-offs. -Adaptive Thinking: applies critical thinking coupled with sound analysis and judgement to evaluate ideas, strategies and outcomes. -Engineering / construction-related diploma or degree. -Self-motivated, proactive individual who can excel independently and manage own projects and deadlines. -Relationship Management: ability to build relationships at all levels, and across teams as a trusted advisor, with strong self-awareness. -Comfortable with MS Office applications (including SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). -Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills. -General understanding of vendor material confirmation documents, packing slips, and invoices. -Familiarity with Fieldwire and BlueBeam is preferred.
