Tasks
-Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving objects up to 25–50 pounds (e.g., inspection tools, plans, or small equipment). -Document inspection results, issue reports, and maintain accurate records -Collaborate with contractors, architect, engineers, and municipal staff regarding compliance and code interpretation. -Review structural plans and construction documents for adherence to building codes and design standards. -Maintain professional knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry best practices. -Use of hands and fingers to handle tools, operate inspection equipment, and use computers/tablets for reporting. -Conducts on-site inspections of buildings and structures to verify compliance with the Florida Building Code and applicable local regulations. -Assess and resolve complaints received from clients, applicants, public, designers, and contractors. -Regularly interacts directly with municipal clients and their staff.

What You Bring
-Good time management, organization, and attention to detail. -FL Inspector License in Building required -Excellent verbal and written communication. -Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment. -Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology. -Hearing sufficient to communicate with contractors, workers, and the public in noisy environments. -FL Certified General Contractor's License required -3-5 years combined experience in building department field inspection and plans examiner duties. -Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, crawling, or kneeling to conduct inspections. -Visual acuity sufficient to read construction plans, technical documents, and observe construction details. -Frequent driving between inspection sites and company locations within a region. -Acceptable driving record. -Candidate must be able to handle multiple projects in a fast paced atmosphere. -Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office. -Must possess the ability to positively interact with other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental agencies, and other clientele. -FL Plans Examiner License in Building required -High school diploma or equivalent. -Candidate must stay familiar and up to date with different editions of the International Building Codes. -Work performed in both office and field settings. -Ability to prepare written plan review correspondence and update information into company software programs. -Ability to detect safety hazards and defects through visual and auditory inspection. -Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) and construction site environments (noise, dust, uneven terrain). -Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, or unfinished stairways to access roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and other elevated or confined areas.
