The Role

Overview

Supervise crew installing, maintaining, repairing underground utility systems.

Tasks

-Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, engineers, and subcontractors. -Conduct daily job site inspections and pre-task planning to identify hazards and mitigate risks. -Operate and oversee use of heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, trenchers, backhoes). -Set an example with proper use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment. -Interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications. -Ensure compliance with safety procedures, OSHA standards, and company policies. -Track crew productivity, timekeeping, and materials used. -Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members to ensure high performance and safety. -Perform quality checks to verify proper depth, slope, alignment, and compaction. -Supervise and coordinate daily activities of underground utility crew. -Work is primarily performed outdoors in all/extreme weather conditions. -Schedule equipment and materials delivery to job sites. -Maintain detailed project records, including daily reports and as-built documentation.

What You Bring

-Previous experience in underground power distribution required. -This position requires physical activity including extended periods of standing and walking, frequent sitting, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, stooping and climbing. -Requires the ability to frequently lift and/or carry materials and/or supplies and other materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Occasional lifting and/or carrying of materials and/or supplies weighing up to 100 lbs. -Previous leadership experience preferred. -Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools. -Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds. -Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance. -Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen on the jobsite, inspectors, customers, and the public. -Safe driving record. -Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. -Valid Class A or B CDL license or permit and current valid DOT physical required.
