Overview

Detail concrete reinforcement using RebarCAD, develop skills, assist on complex projects.

Tasks

-Produce the material list for all products from RebarCAD and produce replacement orders as required. -Work with job site personnel to determine project requirements for both detailing and delivery of material. -Bring any change(s) made to the contract documents to the attention of your supervisor (i.e. change made of the approval drawings, changes made by the field or yourself). -Continue developing knowledge of industry reference material (i.e. CRSI and ACI manuals). -Detail accessories, mesh, couplers and dowel bars and prepare material lists as required. -Enter all drawings for submission into drawing tracking system. -Working with supervision, beginning detailing more complex projects (i.e. jobs with columns, beams, one- and two-way slabs, and grade beams.) -Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers and other electronic equipment -Verify drawings, dates, specifications, addenda and other contractual information from the routing sheet or directly from the business system. -Work with A/E regarding problems or questions on contract documents. -Continue developing skills with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s detailing system (RebarCAD).

What You Bring

-Two-year technical diploma from an accredited school or college -Moderate noise level -At least 1 year of experience with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s detailing system (RebarCAD) or other CAD based detailing system -Effective verbal and communication skills -Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued from an accredited school or college or equivalent combination of training and work experience -Ability to work as a team member on projects with an aptitude for problem solving -Organized and detail oriented -Knowledge of construction or civil technology -Vision abilities including close vision and adjusting focus -Basic knowledge of reinforcing bar detailing -Working knowledge of industry reference material (i.e. CRSI and ACI) -Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s vision and values. -Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities -Lifting/handling computers and related equipment
