The Role

Overview

Design and manage structural engineering projects for commercial/industrial buildings.

Tasks

-Lead specific tasks of large projects and manage smaller projects. -Perform structural design of water and waste water treatment facilities, including water tight structures. -Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings. -May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear -Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist -Design structural systems of wood, masonry, structural steel, steel joists, concrete (reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete), and light gage steel. -Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work. -Provide professional services for a wide variety of projects. Services to include design development, final design, construction administration, and forensic engineering. -Design deep and shallow foundation systems in a variety of geologic conditions, including collapsible soils and expansive soils. -Maintain budgets and schedules of project assignments. -Assist the Structural Division Manager in identifying, evaluating, pursuing, and managing project opportunities. -Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight -Maintain existing client relationships and pursue relationships with new clients.

-May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasion -Project management experience -Experience with structural analysis programs -Demonstrated experience using Revit -Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. -Master's degree in structural engineering or related field -Knowledge of project financials -Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field -Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time -May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds -Knowledge of regional design standards, construction practices, and geologic concerns -Strong oral and written communication skills -Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain -6+ years of experience -Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development -Ability to work remotely and manage projects, clients, and project team members -Registration as a Professional Engineer in primary state of residence or ability to obtain within 6 months
