Tasks

-Inform personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions. -Diagnose causes of electrical problems or failures for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair. -Fabricate electrical parts; inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable exterior and interior safety codes and regulations. -Monitored performance with routine evaluation. -Inspect electrical systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance actions. -Clean, maintain and service tools and equipment used in the performance of duties. -Inspect, troubleshoot, isolate and repair electrical malfunctions using various test instruments. -Work is primarily outside along interstate highways requiring necessary safety precautions involved in working with electricity in and alongside traffic. -Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely; assemble, install, maintain, and repair electrical apparatuses; make rough sketches; estimate cost, time and materials of electrical work. -Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics. -Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical load centers and distribution systems. -Maintain, test and repair electrical equipment for safety and efficiency; plan the layout and wiring of new or existing installations. -Maintain electrical wiring system and components in accordance with the provisions of the National Electrical Code and Industry Standards. -Inspect related work performed by contractors; estimate cost, time and materials for electrical projects; participate in the maintenance and operations of an electrical shop. -Analyze electrical plant operational characteristics and make recommendations to correct deficiencies and respond safely and appropriately to emergency situations.

What You Bring

-Licensed Journeyman Electrician -Ability to operate and perform work in a bucket truck. -Minimum 2 years of field experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical components up to and including 480 VAC 3 phase systems. -Experienced in and/or knowledgeable of traffic monitoring and control systems. -Thorough knowledge of electrical theory and methods, materials, tools, equipment, and systems used in the electrical trade. -Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License. -Experience utilizing electrical schematics, diagrams, and specifications -High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent. -Fast-paced, multi-tasking environment subject to short or no-notice work assignments and exposure to inclement weather. -Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. -Weekend, evening, and overtime work may be required. Standing for prolonged periods of time, walking, lifting, carrying; frequently reaching, kneeling, climbing, bending, twisting, crouching, and balancing can be expected.
