Tasks
-Assist in training, mentoring, and developing new and existing team members. -Communicate clearly with supervisors, clients, and coworkers to ensure efficient operations. -Perform underground utility locates using electronic locating equipment and APWA color standards. -Complete documentation for locates, crossings, and excavation projects accurately and on time. -Lead and support field technicians to complete locate requests safely, accurately, and within required timelines. -Coordinate with the Utility Supervisor and field staff to manage daily workload and priorities. -Read and interpret utility maps and prints to identify underground facilities. -Promote a strong safety and quality culture throughout all field activities. -Participate in on-call rotations and ensure equipment readiness for field projects. -Participate in safety meetings, audits, and operational reviews.

What You Bring
-Ability to travel to offsite locations for extended periods as needed. -High School Diploma or equivalent (required). -Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions. -Valid Driver’s License and ability to operate a company vehicle. -Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). -Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment and traverse rugged terrain. -Tools & Technology: You’ll be equipped with reliable tools and a company laptop for field use. -Willingness to work extended hours when project schedules require. -Availability to travel and participate in on-call rotations. -Exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, precipitation). -2–3 years of utility locating experience (required). -Frequent standing and walking; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. -Prior leadership or mentoring experience preferred. -Strong knowledge of utility locating methods, equipment, and industry standards. -Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
