The Role

Overview

Conduct layout surveys and staking for road and construction projects.

Tasks

-Verify existing site conditions and provide feedback to project managers on potential conflicts or design issues. -Monitor and report project progress to ensure survey work aligns with construction timelines. -Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and inspectors to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy. -Maintain detailed field notes and electronic data files in accordance with project standards. -Operate and maintain surveying equipment such as GPS, total stations, levels, and data collectors. -Conduct construction layout surveys for construction/roadway projects. -Perform staking and layout for road alignments, grading, drainage systems, curbs, and utilities. -Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and engineering drawings to guide fieldwork.

What You Bring

-Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed. -Associate or bachelor's degree in construction, civil engineering, or related field preferred. -Minimum 1+ years of experience in construction surveying, preferably on roadway or infrastructure projects. -Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other design software is a plus. -Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. -Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills. -Excellent Communication Skills, both written and verbal. -Knowledge of DOT standards and roadway construction practices. -Proficiency in using modern surveying instruments GPS, total stations, data collectors, and related software. -Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
