The Role

Overview

Maintain and repair trucks and heavy equipment, performing inspections and preventive maintenance.

Tasks

-Perform inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment. -Assist in the maintenance shops as needed. -Repairs and preventative maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment such as loaders, rollers, paving equipment, mixer trucks, etc... -Maintain tools as required to do the job. -Maintain insurable driving record. -Current employees are required to speak with their immediate manager before applying for any open positions.* -Ensure a safe and healthful work environment at all time. -Prepare and maintain records and reports.

What You Bring

-Sitting: 10% of time. -Standing: 60% - 70% of the time. -High school diploma or GED. -Ability to move 50 pounds -Driving: 20%-30% of the time for road calls, and pulling equipment in and out of the shop. -Must be able to work varying shifts and long hours. -Weight Lifted: Must frequently be able to lift and carry up to 50-70 pounds. Heavy items may be required to be lift above one's head and maneuvered while sitting, kneeling and laying down. For safety, assistance will be provided for heavy objects. -Enrollment in a Diesel Technician Program preferred (Applied Technology College, SLCC, UVU, etc.). -Ability to work well with others in a team environment -Climbing: 20%-30% of the time. This includes shop ladders, equipment access ladders, and climbing under equipment for maintenance. -Must have vocational training in preventative maintenance, brake systems, and basic wiring. -Physical Movement: May frequently be required to walk and work over uneven ground, balance, stoop/crouch, kneel, grab, drag, climb and hold objects.

Benefits

-Working Conditions: 70% of time will be spent working in the shop, and 30% will be field/ road call work.
