Tasks

The Safety Shift Specialist is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and monitoring health and safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role plays a critical part in promoting a culture of safety and minimizing workplace hazards through inspections, training, reporting, and risk assessment. -Collaborate with operations, HR, and management teams to ensure safety standards are integrated across departments. -Stay current on regulations, industry trends, and best practices in health and safety. -Partner with shift leadership to address unsafe behaviors or conditions in a proactive manner -Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. -Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and root cause analyses. -Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, trainings, incidents, and compliance activities. -Lead or support safety committee meetings and initiatives. -Monitor and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment. -Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies. -Facilitate employee safety training programs, including new hire orientation, ongoing education, and emergency response drills.

What You Bring

-Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). -Must be able to walk, stand, climb ladders, and wear PPE for extended periods. -Excellent communication, training, and documentation skills. -Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS software platforms. -Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and other applicable regulations. -2+ years of experience in a safety or EHS role, preferably in manufacturing -Experience with incident tracking or safety audit software. -Certification preferred: -Some travel may be required between worksites or for training. -Familiarity with ISO 45001 or other management system standards. -Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. -Comfortable working across all areas of the facility and shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed -Regular exposure to manufacturing or industrial environments.
