The Role

Overview

Assist senior engineers in bridge analysis, design, and construction documentation.

Tasks

-Load rating of existing bridges. -Visual survey and structural observations of existing building structures for rehabilitations/repair projects. -Shop drawing review and design services during construction. -Preparation of quantity calculations. -Preparation of reports and technical specifications. -Collection and analysis of data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. -Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. -Preparation and checking of design calculations for bridges and other transportation related structures. -Coordination with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed. -Preparation of construction cost estimates. -Preparation of construction drawings which include – plans, structural sections, and details.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering or related field -The preferred candidate would be detailed oriented and have strong skills in structural analysis, steel and concrete design; and the ability to work in a team environment. -Engineer-in-Training (EIT) -Proficiency with Microstation, OpenBridge, and similar computer software -Master's Degree in Civil Engineer with an emphasis in structural engineering -Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management skills, a strong work ethic, and a willing desire to learn.
