The Role

Overview

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot critical power systems (UPS, batteries, etc.)

Tasks

-Teach and mentor crew members on proper techniques for site work, troubleshooting, repair and analyzing site data. -Maintain Battery Cabinets and racks, Maintenance Bypass’, Battery Monitoring Equipment, DC Systems and other electrical equipment. -Field troubleshooting calls from customers to satisfactory resolution. -Install electrical equipment such as small rack mounted UPS equipment, various size batteries, UPS/Battery monitoring equipment. -Customer relationship building – provide excellent customer service; upsell products. -Isolate basic hardware, software, and interface malfunctions utilizing various test equipment on multiple products and technologies. -Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining 100% safety awareness. -Lifting heavy objects and stretching above your head

What You Bring

-Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions within fast paced changing priorities. -Minimum of three (3) years serving in a third-party critical power field service or technical support role with a demonstrated progression in technical proficiency and capability -OR- -Understand and have experience enforcing compliance with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations and standards. -Read and interpret electronics schematics with the ability to troubleshoot failures/faults to the component level. -Knowledge of test equipment operation, such as multi-meters, and battery test equipment. -Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds for short durations. -Minimum of five (5) years serving in an OEM service environment in the critical power space. -Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (if driving a Company Vehicle) and pass a pre-employment drug screen. -Prior military training in electronics or avionics (A School, AIT, etc.) preferred. -Ability to stand for extended periods of time. -Quickly respond to critical situations. -Good understanding of AC/DC electrical principles. -Ability to kneel or crouch periodically. -At Pearce safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA and applicable DOT Standards. -Periodic and lifecycle-driven performance of remedial services, including failure analysis and troubleshooting, component replacements and repairs, and battery string replacements and installations. -Ability to travel for multiple days with Per Diem as projects require. -Outstanding work ethic, punctual, trustworthy, and reliable – you will set the pace as a senior UPS/ Critical Power Engineer.
