The Role
Overview
Conducts EMC testing, data analysis, and certification reporting for products.

Tasks
-Assembles and disassembles test samples, hooks-up laboratory test equipment in preparation for testing, and operates most laboratory test equipment without supervision. -Records technical data and draft reports. -Determines whether a product passes or fails subject to review by Certifier/Reviewer. -Maintains and initiates direct certifier contact to provide information and answer questions or obtain more product information. -Relates test results to product specifications. -Independently analyzes complex devices and equipment to determine compliance to applicable requirements. -Provides the certifier with detailed interpretation of test results and construction evaluation and how it applies to the status of their certification. -Performs witness testing as required by Lab Tech III or Manager -Interacts with the Certifier to plan activities, exchange information, review and approve lab reports and certification records. -Maintains good housekeeping of tools, equipment and work area following tests and carries out assigned laboratory clean-up duties. -Performs mathematical calculations required to summarize test results as applicable. -Contributes to the development and implementation of requirements for new and/or revised standards as required -Determines and reviews which tests are required the order in which to perform tests and the number of samples required. -Notes and records discrepancies or characteristics of products which may appear before or during the tests and refer them to Sr. Lab Tech, Certifier or Manager. -Conducts a wide range of test procedures on equipment to the applicable standards and interprets the results of the test. -Acts as a liaison with other departments as required by Lab Manager. -Performs tests and calculations, compiles data and summarizes test results into test reports and checklists. Verifies calculations are consistent with results of measurements. -Tests to the certifier’s requests and provides general and specific information about the certification testing process or status of a work order to assist the certifier and improve overall customer service and satisfaction.

What You Bring
-Related certification to field; i.e. OACETT membership preferred -5-8 years of related experience -Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to teach others, and work independently and as a team player. -Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Suite), as required, learn and be proficient in CSA programs (CENTRA, etc.), or any test equipment-based software. -Proficient in EMC and radio standards testing which includes IEC 61000-4-X series CISPR 14, CISPR 32, CISPR 35, IEC 60601-1-2, IEC 61326-1, EN 301 489, EN 300 328, FCC Part 15, 18. RSS-247. -Ability to interact with internal customers as well as external -Needs to be knowledgeable of safe practices; ability to move equipment around with assistance or independently; follow safety practices; ability to use a variety of equipment to perform daily tasks -Knowledge on how to operate test equipment. -Excellent and effective time and project management skills in order to efficiently handle a variety of project requests in order to meet timelines for completion, and on-time delivery. -Familiar with EMC chamber calibrations like NSA, sVSWR, Field Uniformity. -3-year Technical Certificate or equivalent education and experience or -Adaptable to a changing work environment. -Excel at research, problem-solving and project management. -Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology -Hands-on experience with RF and EMC measurements. -Excellent oral and written communication skills
