Tasks

As a Senior Estimator, you will take the lead on preparing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects. Working closely with design, commercial, and operational teams, you will manage the tendering process from concept through to submission, ensuring our bids are both commercially sound and strategically aligned. -Engage and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing. -Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with clients and project teams. -Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to ensure full project understanding. -Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions. -Support cost planning and feasibility studies at early project stages. -Identify potential risks and opportunities throughout the tender process. -Mentor and support junior estimators within the team. -Conduct quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and value engineering exercises. -Contribute to the continual improvement of estimating processes and systems.

They deliver high-quality construction projects across the North West, covering residential, aftercare, industrial, and commercial sectors. As their portfolio continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to strengthen their pre-construction team in Manchester. -Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline. -Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building regulations. -Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. -Experience across residential, aftercare, industrial, or commercial projects. -Proficient in estimating software (e.g. Causeway, Conquest, CostX, or similar). -Confident communicator, both written and verbal, with strong negotiation skills. -Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within the construction industry. -Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
