Tasks

-Ensure technical quality in contracts, calculations, drawings & other documents, and timely delivery -Continuously seeks new efficient ways to perform tasks and to deliver quality work -Keep the WSP Lead Engineer, Project Manager regularly informed of technical activities, staffing, budgets and schedules. -Prepare and review substation documentations, for example, protection diagrams, control and interlocking logics, AC and DC drawings, calculations, control and protection panel drawings, IED configurations, cabling and bills of materials. -Support the work with the appropriate staff and tools to complete the task -Recognizes contributions from others -Prepare project documents in your area of responsibility and deliver within budget, scope, and contract. -Continuously seeks new and efficient ways to perform tasks and to deliver high quality work -Ensure that engineering is developed with complete information and/or that all multidisciplinary information has been included. -Maintain harmony and a productive work atmosphere by being open about work activities and project status -Deliver superior quality designs and deliverables that meet the technical, schedule and budget requirements -Improves teamwork by sharing information and knowledge without reservation -Ensure adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks. -Train and develop new team in new processes and procedures -Applies standard engineering work planning, scheduling, and cost estimating -Drive completion of all secondary engineering activities on the project -Lead the work effort by defining the tasks and participating in their execution -Participate in activities to stay abreast of the latest technology -Promotes team behaviour by keeping all informed about the technical and people developments in the work group -Lead development of new solutions for complex projects and challenges. -Assigns and delegates tasks to qualified persons

What You Bring

-Understands standard contract requirements and scope as they relate to discipline work -Italian grid connection regulatory aspects (CEI 0-16, Terna Grid Code at least) experience is preferred -Has competence and confidence to make technical presentations -Knows electrical equipment and material -Familiar with all WSP design guides and standards relevant to discipline -Experienced with schematic drawings and identify or locate mistakes, problem solving and conflict resolution, proven technical report generation, communication, customer interface skills multi priority and multi-tasking. -Ability to negotiate effectively with internal and external clients -Be approachable to members of the team -Understands EDP’s (Engineering Design Procedure) and their application on projects -Fluent spoken and written English. -Knows how to perform complex engineering analyses and develop complex deliverables within discipline -Knows technical issues related to discipline and how to discuss with third parties (customer, suppliers, and regulators) -Understanding of industry Norms and procedures -In-depth knowledge of specific standards -Familiar with methods of procurement, including bid and evaluation process -Experienced with leading a group of engineers and/or designers within the discipline -8 to 14 years of experience in Electrical Engineering -Knowledgeable in the overall work requirements outside of the discipline. -Capable of analyzing and understanding Client’s requirements and standards. -Experience working on protection philosophies. Basic knowledge of communication protocols like IEC61850, LON, IEC104, IEC101-3, DNP. -Understands roles played by other departments on projects -Ability to revise existing standards -Proactive, result-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills as well as reliability and ability to work under pressure. -As a person, you are communicative, collaborative, and not afraid to take on difficult conversations. -Ability to lead and deliver quality results -Recognized degree in engineering or technical field from an accredited college or university and specialized courses in Electrical discipline plus applicable practical work experience. Minimum, Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. -Has a strong desire to develop new technical capability -Experience in design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, DigSILENT is an preferred. -Knows how to coordinate technical issues within discipline, with other disciplines, and with engineering staff -Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India. -Exhibit facilitation skills for problem solving by enlisting the support of the entire group -Experienced with Calculations (CT/VT adequacy calculations, LV systems sizing and coordination studies, generator sizing, Battery and chargers sizing, LV cable sizing and voltage drop).
