The Role

Overview

Install, test, and support structured cabling and fiber optic systems in data centers.

Tasks

-Maintain organization, quality, and compliance with project safety and documentation standards. -Perform and assist with fiber terminations, labeling, testing, and bonding activities. -Work alongside senior technicians on high fiber-count splicing and routing projects. -Contribute to telecommunication room build-outs and infrastructure setup. -Support both OSP (Outside Plant) and in-building data center infrastructure work. -Assist in the installation, testing, and support of structured cabling and fiber optic systems.

What You Bring

-OSHA 10 certification required. -1+ year of experience in structured cabling, OSP, or related construction. -Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights or in confined spaces. -Familiarity with data center environments or large-scale fiber projects (e.g., Microsoft or hyperscale facilities) a plus. -Experience or exposure to fiber splicing preferred. -Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team setting. -Excellent communication and customer service skills with a safety-first mindset. -Must be able to distinguish color codes for cabling and interpret wiring schematics. -General knowledge of server/network equipment, AC/DC power principles, and data center power distribution. -2+ years working in data centers, network operations, or related technical fields preferred. -Willingness to travel between nearby data center sites as needed.

💰 Pay: $20–$25 per hour, based on experience
