Overview
Manage procurement, cost control, and supplier relationships for construction materials.

Tasks
-Building relationships with suppliers, monitoring their performance and implementing any changes to drive improvement. -Managing Product data on D365. -Producing reports through D365 to support effective management of the buyers categories. -Managing categories including metal plates, lifting slings, hangers, fixings, consumables and fire socks. -Identify cost-saving opportunities, carrying out periodic tenders and negotiate contracts with suppliers for best value. -Managing New Product Requisition process from start to finish. -Supporting the supply chain strategy by identifying any areas of risk and opportunity within the buyers category portfolio. -Balance demand and supply, creating a delivery plan which satisfies the combined requirements of production, keeping inventory within approved limits. -Collaborate with other departments to support the business needs. -Supporting Engineering and design team in the effective implementation of new parts, coordinating the appropriate run out and ramp up of stock to ensure minimum financial impact due to part obsolescence. -Raising purchase orders for goods not for resale, including production consumables, engineering requests etc.

What You Bring
-Strong negotiating and networking skills -Ability to work well as part of a team. -Good understanding of procurement processes within the construction industry. -Demonstratable experience of delivering savings within a housebuilding or construction environment. -Strong mathematical and IT skills. -Excellent communication skills. -Experience of working in a buyer position within the housebuilding industry. -Good knowledge of UK Housebuilding supply markets. -Good knowledge of construction methods and materials. -HNC/ONC in Construction or similar. -Ability to analyse and assess information in different formats to make informed decisions. -Thorough understanding of legislation relating to procurement contracts and policies. -Comfortable communicating with both internal and external stakeholders of various levels. -Working towards being a Chartered member of CIPS. -Experience of working in a similar position within the housebuilding industry. -Due to the nature of the role, candidates will be required to travel to Vistry manufacturing facilities on a regular basis. -Positive attitude with a calm and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
