Tasks

-Ensure procurement activities align with company policies, regulatory standards (including local content rules, environmental regulations, safety standards). -Stay updated on market trends, commodity pricing, supplier innovations, and geopolitical/logistical issues that could affect supply or cost. -Track and report cost savings, cost avoidance, lead times, on-time delivery (OTD), and other procurement KPIs. -Monitor supplier performance, ensure supplier compliance, manage change orders/amendments and resolve supplier issues (quality, cost, delivery). -Develop and execute sourcing strategies, including RFx (Request for Information, Proposal, Quotation) that ensure competitive bids, value optimization, and risk mitigation. -Maintain procurement records, contract documentation, and supplier files to support audits and regulatory compliance. -Negotiate contracts, purchase orders, pricing, terms & conditions, guarantees, warranty, and delivery schedules. -Liaise with finance for budget planning, invoice reconciliation, and three-way match (PO, receipt, invoice). -Identify, evaluate, qualify, and maintain approved suppliers; perform vendor audits and assessments (including HSE, quality, capacity, insurance). -Manage logistics related to procurement: expedite deliveries, import/export issues, customs, shipping, freight, any accessorial charges, etc. -Support risk management: identify supply chain risks, ensure continuity of supply, manage inventory levels for critical spares and materials.

What You Bring

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Specialist with 5+ years of procurement / purchasing experience; preferably in oil & gas, energy, manufacturing, or EPC to join our team! The Procurement Specialist plays a key role in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services to support upstream, midstream, and/or downstream oil & gas brownfield projects. -Professional certifications such as SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional), CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent. -Fluency in both written and spoken English; -Experience with small and medium capital projects typical in oil & gas (e.g., facility construction, pipeline facilities, production facilities, mining and mineral processing facilities, industrial buildings, etc.). -Local content experience, familiarity with Alberta’s regulatory environment. -Understanding of operating plant logistics, specialized equipment, and technical materials (e.g. tagged equipment, rotating equipment, valves, pre- fab buildings). -5+ years of procurement / purchasing experience; preferably in oil & gas, energy, manufacturing, or EPC Collaborate with project, operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify procurement needs, define specifications and ensure alignment with project timelines. -Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills. -Must be capable of conducting field visits at client’s facilities as required. -Post‑secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. -Willingness to learn and grow in the engineering field. -Experience in oil and gas, mining, and utilities facilities projects. -Experience with vendor development / supplier relationship management in a harsh operating environment (remote sites, cold weather, transport/haulage constraints). -Knowledge of contracts law, Incoterms, regulatory requirements, quality standards, HSE standards. -Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple simultaneous procurements/projects. -5-10 years of related experience; -A self-starter with strong technical, interpersonal, teamwork, communication, and organizational skills. -Familiarity with procurement tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, ERP modules, e‑sourcing platforms).
