Tasks

-Understand the implications of various technical options and guide engineering designs to achieve the best solution for each situation. -Design in-house Site Layouts, Energy Models, Performance Calculations, Optimization Exercises, and Single Line Diagrams. -Produce grading analysis, topographical exhibits, and other AutoCAD Civil3D deliverables. -Review due diligence surveys and studies required for design and permitting purposes. Review reports conducted for projects to ensure compliance and determine impacts on the site design. -Review and risk analysis of site layouts. -Read, interpret, and understand all project documentation such as City/County zoning and permitting requirements and produce design solutions to meet the requirements. -Review scopes of work, deliverables, and schedules for engineering consultants. -Assist as needed on the design of ground mounted solar PV system projects focusing on the site layout and civil engineering / land development aspects of the projects. -Coordinate and manage third-party engineering firms across multiple disciplines (renewables, CCGT, HV electrical, geotech, etc.). -Produce engineering plans and details utilizing AutoCAD design software. -Ensure all engineering activities align with project timelines and budgets. -Support maintenance of EPCA technical specs and contracts. -Develop effective relationships with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, landowners, and other stakeholders. -Facilitate design coordination meetings and issue resolution discussions. Reinforce a team approach throughout the enterprise, both on projects and internal initiatives. -Champion change and effectively manage the implementation of new ideas, processes, tools, etc. -Effectively communicate relevant information to superiors. -Act as the point of contact between internal development/construction teams and external engineering consultants. -Technical support for Supply Chain to review new BESS and PCS technologies, PV inverters, and MV transformers. -Ensure the execution of work in accordance with contracts and policies. -Support the Pre-Construction Department by actively participating in the EPC RFP process for assigned projects through contract execution.

What You Bring

-Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and meet deadlines. -Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability. -Engineer in Training (EIT) certified preferred, progressively working towards Professional Engineer’s (PE) licensure. -Ability to effectively coordinate and handle, under pressure, multiple projects with a high degree of independence and professional judgment to deliver projects within deadlines. -AutoCAD experience specific to project development. -Travel is expected to be ~10% -Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. -Ability to create and implement programs/policies involving multiple departments. -1-5 years in the renewable energy sector or industrial construction or capital project management. -Self-motivated, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision. -Competency in analytical problem solving, customer/partner relationships, and technology expertise. -Experience creating and reviewing engineering deliverables (10/30/60/90% design packages). -Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering; preferred to have experience in development and execution of large utility-scale, power plant projects. -Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. -Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Project, Excel), Procore, SiteTracker, and other discipline-relevant software. -Must hold a valid driver’s license.
