The Role

Overview

Lead civil/structural design for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Tasks

-Lead the full project lifecycle from bid preparation, preliminary design and feasibility studies to detailed design and construction supervision. -Administer construction contracts, oversee procurement, and ensure compliance with design specifications and budgets. -Oversee and deliver civil and structural engineering designs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, including Eurocodes and Uisce Éireann and/or UK AMP8 Utilities’ specifications. -Conduct site inspections, produce related reports, and ensure compliance with company quality assurance procedures. -Proactively identify potential project risks and implement effective risk management strategies. -Work with leading professionals in the RSK Group water industry in both Ireland and the UK. -Prepare and review all project documentation, including design drawings, engineering calculations, and Bills of Quantities. -Mentor and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative environment and overseeing professional development. -Assist in securing new contracts by preparing technical proposals and tenders. -Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout all project phases.

What You Bring

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. -Experience in acting as a designer for a Contractor -Experience in water and wastewater infrastructure design and in particular, experience working on Uisce Eireann projects and knowledge of Uisce Eireann standards and /or experience working on one of the UK AMP Frameworks -Demonstrated experience in leading and managing design teams and dealing effectively with clients. -Ideally 10 years of relevant work experience in a design consultancy, with significant experience in water and wastewater infrastructure design -Proven competency in the structural design of water-retaining structures and the application of Eurocodes and British Standards. Must be proficient in industry-standard design software. -Minimum Level 8 qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering. -Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team to meet tight deadlines.
