Lead station electrical design and mentor junior staff for substation upgrades

Tasks

-Work closely with the Senior Project Manager to plan, schedule, and deliver projects. -Participate in design reviews and technical meetings. -Support procurement, construction coordination, and commissioning activities. -Serve as the primary technical liaison with the client and internal teams. -Provide drafting support in AutoCAD or MicroStation when required. -Prepare construction work packages, work instructions, and step plans. -Support factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT). -Ensure compliance with standards, CSA C22 series, and ANSI/NETA ATS. -Act as the technical authority for station design within the team. -Translate technical requirements into actionable plans for non-technical stakeholders. -Ensure as-built documentation and record updates are completed. -Assist with relay programming, RTU configuration, and system integration. -Ensure you and your family receive the services needed to support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. -Develop and review station design packages including: -Mentor and guide junior designers and engineers.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting tools. -5+ years in substation or station design, including P&C and RTU systems. -Excellent communication and leadership abilities. -Relay upgrade designs (e.g., SEL-587Z, SEL-2440) and RTU integration. -Knowledge of protection relays, SCADA/RTU systems, and fiber communication. -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. -Protection & Control (P&C) schematics, wiring diagrams, panel wiring and communication diagrams. -Strong organizational and project management skills. -P.Eng. designation or eligibility in Ontario. -Strong understanding of high-voltage equipment and relay coordination. -Familiarity with SAP or utility asset management systems. -Experience with relay programming and commissioning.
