Electrician Foreperson

Overview

Lead electrical team in water/wastewater plant projects, managing installation and safety.

Tasks

-Work with and maintain all tools in a safe manner -Install MCC's, High Voltage Switchgear and Stress Cones -Inspect electrical systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to identify hazards or locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem and ensure compliance with codes -Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous -Build and maintain a good work ethic and working relationship with the site team, entire project workforce and encourage positive morale -Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures -Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using appropriate hand tools and power tools -Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components -Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes -Ensure you are knowledgeable in your trade and confidently lead a team -Install distribution and instrumentation equipment

What You Bring

-Knowledge of safe operation of tools -Experience working with rigid steel conduit, cable tray, high voltage systems, EMT conduit, motor controls -Experience with Class 1, Zone 1& 2 areas -Must hold a valid Red Seal Electrician certification -Knowledge of workplace safety procedures -Valid WHMIS, Elevated/Aerial Work Platform, Fall Arrest or Working at Heights and Confined Space certificates are required -Experience with MCC and PLC wiring, understanding of PLC's. -Thorough knowledge and understanding of NAC'S Health, Safety, and Environment policies and procedures as per the roles and responsibilities within the HSE Manual -Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings -5+ years of leadership experience (Lead Hand or Foreperson) commercial/industrial industry -Valid Drivers License -Knowledge of cable pulls and set up of cable pulls required
