Tasks
The Patcher is responsible for identifying and repairing all rejected components to be reintroduced as highest value component materials. This operation is the final check point for repairs on components. Reports to Department Manager. No supervisory responsibilities. -Repairing moulding and reintroducing it to finished unit during the time in which the order is being produced -Completing quality patches or repairing components using a sander, wood welder and assorted hand tools as necessary -Handling and maneuvering products in ways that are safe and prevent damage -Closely inspecting material and repairing material that does not meet specified quality standards -Following production schedule and producing material to the required specifications -Performing necessary cleaning, general maintenance, and minor troubleshooting to machinery -Removing components from production if serious defects are discovered -Extracting the highest value possible from rejected products -Complete safety orientation training, observe all safety policies and procedures, including use of required protective equipment (PPE) -Daily set-up, routine use, and adjustments to machines according to the Established Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) -Actively participating in work-area improvements -Maintaining a clean and orderly work area -Solves problems and analyzes issues

This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations. Woodgrain is a drug, alcohol, and tobacco-free workplace. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and hear or talk. Regular bending, stooping, stretching, twisting, turning, and walking. Frequently required to stand for long periods. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high. Hot to cold temperatures and dust. -Ability to use basic measurement tools such as a caliper and tape measure -Good communication and listening skills -Communicates powerfully and prolifically -High School Diploma or GED preferred -Ability to perform basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) -Attention to detail -Read and understand the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and standard operating procedures related to and posted near the area -Know species, profiles, and components of products -Knowing and understanding the different profiles, species, and wood dimensions to successfully run to critical specifications -Ability to repair components -Previous work experience in manufacturing -Ability to work well and collaborate in a team environment -Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner -Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions
