Tasks
-Conduct calculations and simulations to analyze the strength and stability of structural elements, including beams, columns, and foundations, using software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis programs -Supervise and monitor the construction of structural elements, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards -Coordinate testing of structural components (e.g., concrete strength tests, material testing) to verify their integrity and compliance with project specifications -Provide cost estimates for structural elements of the project and monitor project budgets to ensure that costs remain within financial constraints -Specify appropriate materials (steel, concrete, wood, etc.) based on project requirements, environmental factors, and cost considerations -Identify and resolve any on-site issues or challenges that arise during construction, making adjustments to designs if necessary to ensure project success -Discuss design concepts with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, making sure the final designs align with client needs and expectations -Develop designs for building structures, bridges, foundations, and other civil engineering projects, ensuring they meet safety, durability, and cost-efficiency standards -Provide technical support and guidance during the construction phase, ensuring that the structural design is implemented correctly and according to plan -Prepare the necessary documentation for regulatory approvals and submit permits for construction, ensuring that all aspects of the design adhere to legal and safety standards -Ensure that designs comply with local, state, and national building codes and regulations -Prepare and present structural design proposals and reports to clients and stakeholders, providing explanations of design choices and addressing any concerns -Evaluate risks associated with structural designs and construction, recommending mitigating measures to avoid safety hazards or structural failures -Ensure that safety procedures and risk management strategies are implemented during the design and construction phases to protect workers and the public -Work closely with architects, civil engineers, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) engineers, and project managers to integrate structural systems seamlessly into the overall project design

What You Bring
-Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams with architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers, contractors, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive project solutions -Experience preparing detailed structural drawings, conducting design calculations, and ensuring compliance with safety codes and regulations -Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field required -Knowledge of local, state, and national building codes (e.g., International Building Code, ASCE, AISC, ACI) and structural design standards to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements -Ability to clearly and effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (clients, contractors, project managers, etc.) -Ability to assess and mitigate risks associated with the structural design, including identifying potential points of failure and implementing preventive measures -OSHA 10/OSHA 30 or ability to obtain -Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineer or related field preferred -Leed Certification is a plus -Ability to coordinate with project managers, architects, contractors, and clients to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion -Proficiency in designing and analyzing structures (buildings, bridges, foundations, etc.) to ensure they are safe, functional, and compliant with building codes and regulations -Understanding of the properties and behavior of materials used in construction (steel, concrete, wood, etc.) and how they interact with different load conditions -Ability to analyze complex structural challenges and devise innovative solutions -Strong attention to detail in reviewing technical specifications, drawings, and calculations to avoid errors that could lead to design flaws or safety hazards -Professional fast paced environment -Professional Engineer License -Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers -Driver’s License -Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours) -Familiarity in project coordination, collaborating with architects, civil engineers, and contractors to ensure that the design and construction processes are on track -In-depth understanding of structural engineering principles, such as load distribution, material strength, and structural stability -Efficient time management skills to balance design, site visits, client meetings, and deadlines while maintaining high-quality work -Excellent report-writing skills for preparing technical reports, design specifications, construction documentation, and correspondence with clients or regulatory bodies -Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. -Have the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards -Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and teams -Experience in estimating project costs, tracking budgets, and identifying cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or safety -Capable of driving a vehicle -3-7 years of experience working on larger, more complex structural designs, including multi-story buildings, bridges, and foundations -Experience in conducting on-site inspections and monitoring the progress of construction, ensuring structural work adheres to design specifications and codes
