The Role

Overview

Perform survey calculations, data processing, and map production for FDOT projects.

Tasks

-Produce Design Surveys for FDOT projects utilizing MicroStation Open Roads. -Review and compare crew field book information to final maps. -Extract topographic features from LiDAR point clouds. -Utilize Standards of Practice and/or FDOT checklists for product preparation. -Process survey data using Trimble Business Center. -Perform calculations for field crews. -Assist in Quality Control of field-collected data for submittals. -Perform processing utilizing GPS processing software. -Prepare sketches and descriptions from field-collected data. -Generate maps, reports, and visualizations to support project deliverables. -Analyze deeds and research materials for production of survey and mapping products. -Preparation of survey estimates, surveyor’s reports, and meeting minutes. -Perform Alignment and Right-of-Way Calculations. -Perform Boundary Calculations. -Preparation of Right-of-Way Control Surveys and Right-of-Way Maps.

What You Bring

-Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. -Familiarity with surveying techniques, equipment, and field procedures preferred. -PLS or PSM license is preferred; candidates actively working toward licensure are also encouraged to apply. -High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geography, GIS, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
