The Role

Overview

Ensures environmental compliance and safety on construction sites, primarily field work

Tasks

-Assists field supervision and Environmental Manager in the implementation of project specific environmental plans -Assists in cleanup of environmental release (spills, equipment leaks, etc.) -Implements required environmental records such as chemical inventories, air permit determinations, waste profiles, environmental release investigations, etc. -Responsible for the investigation of job site environmental release incidents to identify the root cause and communicates that information to site project management team -Champions compliance with environmental rules and regulations -Periodically conducts field/environmental audits of project site -Complies with proper safety procedures -Recognizes and helps eliminate job site hazards while conducting field walks and champions Incident and Injury Free (IIF) environment for project -May participate in the development of project incident trends and leading indicator analyses, planning and implementation of corrective actions -Sets example by following safety guidelines including but not limited to wearing PPE on jobs, staying aware of surroundings, etc. -Attends and participates in Tool Box Talks and provides input for Mission Task Analyses -Reads, interprets, and applies all Environmental regulations to the scope of work

What You Bring

-Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists -Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint -Ability to use Adobe and Bluebeam preferred -Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations -Working knowledge of common regulations for concrete construction industry -Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form -Ability to analyze and compute mathematical values, and the ability to understand, customize and modify spreadsheets -Ability to recognize jobsite hazards/unsafe trends and apply solutions -Ability to work with co-workers to integrate safe means and environmentally compliant methods to accomplish tasks -Must have the ability to exert physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 20 pounds -Ability to multi-task and interface with safety, operations, and risk management -Ability to communicate to co-workers in a team environment (for example Toolbox Talks, safety meetings, etc.) -Bachelor s degree in STEM field or Occupational Safety and Health, or related field from an accredited college or university or 5 years of construction related experience -Ability to read and comprehend environmental procedures, -Ability to present information to all levels of co-workers throughout the project -Ability to maneuver in and out of job site trailers and various stages of job site terrains
