The Role

Overview

Maintain and repair HVAC and building systems for student housing at UND

Tasks

-Service, repair, maintain, monitor, and adjust HVAC systems to keep within allowable parameters. -Work from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts, or verbal instructions and operate a variety of tools and machines incidental to operations. -Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. -Perform a variety of service work, and general maintenance activities. This will include carpentry, painting, plumbing, and facility repairs to building systems, electrical fixtures, appliances, and equipment. -Provide direction and training to less experienced O&M Specialists. -Plan, select, and lay out required materials for service, repair, and preventive maintenance work. -Participate in an on-call rotation schedule to attend to emergency situations. -Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.

What You Bring

-Use of a variety of hand and power tools or man lifts may be required. -Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision. -Five or more years of experience in operations and maintenance. -Effective communication and interpersonal skills. -Must be able to pass a thorough background check and subject interview, as well as a university background check. -Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. -Universal EPA Refrigeration Certification. -Two-year technical degree or two years of experience as an Operations & Maintenance Specialist II, or completion of an apprenticeship program. -In-depth knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals sufficient to deal with service and repairs. -Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. -Physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs. -Basic electrical system working knowledge. -Working knowledge of Metasys (BMS). -Ability to work on-call, weekends, and holidays as needed.
