The Role

Overview

Operate, maintain, and clean production equipment, handle packaging and ensure safety.

Tasks

-Safety: Perform all tasks safely and injury-free. Actively participate in improving department and plant safety. -Dust Collector Maintenance: Replace filters on grinders' dust collectors. -Sampling: Take samples of raw materials and finished products. -Monitor and adjust machine settings for optimal performance. -Training and Participation: Attend and participate in plant programs, committees, and training sessions as required. -Equipment Cleaning: Clean grinders, extruders, testing equipment, and charging equipment. -Machine Operation: Operate grinder and extruder production lines. -Packaging and Palletizing: Package and palletize finished products into boxes, drums, gaylords, and supersacks ranging from 15 lbs to 2000 lbs. -Perform cleaning and maintenance of equipment. -Material Handling: Load and blend dry materials. -Forklift Operation: Operate a forklift for material handling. -Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and order in the work area. -Floor Scrubber Operation: Operate a floor scrubber for cleaning. -Follow safety and environmental regulations. -Operate and maintain production equipment. -Data Recording: Record batch variables and log data accurately. -Compliance: Follow ISO 14001 procedures and environmental requirements.

What You Bring

-Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain. -Familiarity with operating machinery such as grinders, extruders, and blenders. -Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping. -Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. -Basic math skills for measuring and weighing materials. -Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods. -Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends if needed. -Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. -High school diploma or GED. -Strong attention to detail for quality control. -Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus. -Basic mechanical aptitude. -Comfortable working in a noisy and fast-paced environment. -Understanding of safety protocols and procedures. -Ability to read and follow batch tickets and production instructions. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
