Overview
Design and model transit and rail projects as an entry‑level civil engineer.

Tasks
-Work to meet project timelines and budgets. -Coordinate with other disciplines including structural, geotechnical, stormwater, streetlighting, buildings engineering, and others to ensure interdisciplinary design integration. -Additional duties may include assisting with project management, pursuits and proposal preparation. -Assist with the preparation of engineering reports and technical studies, including basic calculations. -Follow applicable standards, quality assurance and quality control procedures during the design process. -Assist with preparation of technical specifications and quantity estimates. -Support development of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design plans. -With guidance, perform geometric design and 3D modeling on a variety of urban and rural transit, rail, and roadway projects. -Undertake field reviews and prepare field observation reports to support engineering and construction administration activities.

What You Bring
-Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of programs including word, excel, PowerPoint, etc. -Knowledge of modelling software such as Infraworks or OpenRoads considered to be an asset. -Registered as an EIT in the Province of Alberta or ability to obtain within the next 6 months. -Selfmotivated individual with the ability to work in a team environment. -Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field). -Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license. -Basic understanding of general civil design concepts in relevant areas. -Minimum of 0 – 2 years of industry experience. -Proficiency with MS Project and/or P6 considered an asset. -High emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy. -Basic understanding of modelling software and knowledge of calculations performed by the software or software savvy with aspirations to develop 3D modeling skillset. -Strong verbal and written communication skills.
