The Role

Overview

Prepare cost estimates for mechanical systems in commercial/industrial projects.

Tasks

-Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established. -Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Manager of Preconstruction with recommendation for resolution. -Prepare scope letters and proposals -Participate in walk-throughs, pre-bid and scope clarification meetings -Participate in consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. -Communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. -Help Prepare estimates to be used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work. -Build & Maintain relationships with customers, General Contractors, vendors and subcontractors -Coordinate efforts in performing take-offs, issuing bills of material to vendors and obtaining subcontractor quotes -Collect / work with historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products. -Assist in analyzing blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

What You Bring

-Excellent organizational, communication, strategic, technical, analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills. -Familiarity with Autobid Mechanical, Bluebeam and/or other mechanical or construction programs is a plus. -Must have high standards of quality with attention to detail. -Basic Quantitative take-off and computer entry -Related experience in the construction industry. -Willingness to learn how to effectively perform tasks listed below within our established operating methodology -Strong integrity, honesty, professionalism and commitment to company values. -High School diploma or GED required. -Ability to build positive working relationships across departments and with external partners. -Self-motivated and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. -Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel)
