Tasks

-Ensures the engineering facility design basis is controlled and design basis documentation is maintained -Supports audits and inspections; ensures compliance with relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations -Conducts life cycle assessments for utility infrastructure materials and processes; improves preventive maintenance procedures to decrease overall downtime -Conducts engineering and related studies with full technical responsibility for planning and coordinating high-impact complex projects -A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. -Supervises, leads, and coordinates work with full time and contract employees in the execution of new technical strategies, equipment or standards. -Provides engineering and technical expertise and guidance for the identification, analysis and resolution of high impact, complex and/or cross-functional problems in engineering -Ensures technical issues and problems are resolved in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner utilizing available resources -Conducts risk assessments and implements risk mitigation strategies to ensure the safety and reliability of engineering projects -Provides support and technical training to junior engineering levels

What You Bring

-Demonstrated experience with power system distribution or transmission analysis tools, such as Eaton CYME, Positive Sequence Load Flow (PSLF), Outage Management System, Distribution Management System, Energy Management System or other similar software. -Must demonstrate the ability to accurately analyze information, make strategic decisions/recommendations, and guide others’ decision making by identifying the anticipated benefits, consequences, and impacts of alternatives. -Position will require up to 25% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory. -This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties. -Master’s Degree is preferred. -Demonstrated ability to mentor, provide guidance and explain technical concepts. -Demonstrated experience in project management. -Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field. -Demonstrated experience with developing and conducting training programs. -Possess a valid Class C Driver's License. -Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act. -Five or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments. -Experience as an Engineer or Power System Planner in an electric utility with distribution system planning or distribution operations focused experience. -Professional Engineer’s License is preferred.

Benefits

-This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
