Tasks
-Ensures that correct contracts are in place with vendors. -Communicates with all departments to fill their purchasing needs and to inform them of order status. -Audits purchase orders and requisitions for clear, correct and specific information. -Negotiates contracts and/or purchase agreements for raw materials, spare parts, supplies, services and equipment for new projects under the direction of management. -Supports strategic sourcing initiatives. -Participates in meetings as necessary. -Analyzes market trends and applies this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions. -Builds and manages vendor relationships. -Participates in and conducts supplier audits. -Prepares and analyzes RFQ’s. -Purchases and expedites delivery of raw materials, equipment, supplies, spare parts, and services to maintain continuous plant operations. -Compiles, stores and retrieves purchasing records.
