Update and write plant EHS policies and programs including: Emergency Action Plan, Hazardous Waste Plan, Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection and Worksite Specific Procedures, PPE Assessments, Lockout-Tagout procedures, Confined Space Entry, various EHS forms and task specific work instructions.
Complete classroom and on the job training for topics such as: Hazard Communication, Lockout-Tagout, Hearing Conservation, Emergency Action Plans/drills, Hazardous Waste Management, New Employee Orientation, Respiratory Protection, Bloodborne Pathogens, Behavior Based Safety, Ergonomics, Fall Protection, Mechanical Power Presses, Forklift Training, Electrical safety, etc. File training records and update tracking spreadsheets. Write, update or present EHS information at facility tier meetings and/or departmental meetings.
Complete or support environmental tasks on a routine basis. Perform safety inspections for routine hazard identification and work with site management and maintenance on resolution. Audit environmental processes such as hazardous waste storage, chemical inventory and air permit logs. Complete dedicated audits for PPE compliance, secondary container labeling, safety posters/labels/procedures, machine guarding. Perform air sampling for brazing, welding, painting & Volatile Organic Compound’s (VOC’s). Conduct noise sampling. Conduct ergonomic reviews of equipment. Provide shop level support for recordable injury investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action.
Compile, input and track EHS data including Behavior Based Safety observations, safety inspections, energy, waste, water, air emisisons. File accident reports, assist with workers compensation claims. Maintain OSHA logs. Attend production meetings to provide EHS support. Upload and update to the electronic system for recordable injuries and environmental incidents. Participate in safety committee meetings and follow up on corrective actions to ensure effectiveness.

Basic understanding, or the ability to learn, basic chemical safety and engineering practices.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently including planning training events on off-shifts.
