Tasks

-Progress projects through preliminary and detailed modelling design with emphasis on client requirements and innovation -Support the preparation of bids and delivery of services on other contracts. -Assist with contract preparation together with project planning and programming -Complete performance appraisals with direct reports and provide learning and development opportunities where possible -Effective management and response of project-related correspondence -Inspection work, feasibility studies, cost estimating for works and fees -Undertake a wide range of modelling work on all aspects of the functions design and maintenance -Implement effective, value for money and innovative modelling design solutions to meet technical and project requirements -Develop effective concept design solutions that are consistent with the project brief -Development of engineering solutions and presents engineering options -Supervise, mentor and develop team members from senior modelers, through to graduate modelers and technicians -Prepare and check feasibility studies, appraisal/assessment reports and other written documents -Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, particularly the CDM Regulations -Checks to ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System and assist in the development -Project administration reporting to the Project Manager including monitoring programme delivery, resources and budgets Inspection work, feasibility studies, cost estimating for works and fees

What You Bring

-Are experienced in the application of technical governance procedures within a consulting engineering environment -Have Chartered status held with an appropriate professional body, with notable post graduate experience in flood risk management projects -Have extensive experience in Infoworks ICM, FloodModeller or HecRas and hydological modelling techniques -Capable of acting as modelling lead or engineering day-to-day main contact for a project where required under the terms of the commission -Have a Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject -Have experience in managing project-related tasks associated with health, safety andwelfare, e.g. Construction (Design and Management) Regulations -Demonstrable high-level experience and expertise within the relevant technical field, probably gained in a Senior Modeller role or equivalent -Know technical governance procedures and how they are applied within aconsulting engineering environment -An ability to produce or oversee the production of technicallysound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and clientrequirements -Are an accredited training manager with a relevant professional institution, e.g. Supervising Civil Engineer for the Institution of Civil Engineers
