The Role

Overview

Structural intern supporting design and analysis of waterfront and bridge projects.

Tasks

-Analysis, design, inspection of transportation structures, asset management, and other transportation projects -Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports as needed -Work closely with other architects, engineers, scientists, project managers, etc. on multi-discipline projects -Perform construction site inspections and prepare inspection reports -Office construction administration including review of shop drawings and technical submittals -Help resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project -Calculate construction quantity estimates

What You Bring

-Structural analysis and design with timber, steel, concrete and composite materials -Any experience in finite element analysis, AutoCAD, or consulting a plus -Must be a rising Junior in your Bachelor's degree program -Ability to perform field investigations -At least one previous related internship preferred but not required -Prestressed concrete analysis and design -Working towards an EIT certification -A Master's degree student is preferred -Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil engineering with a Structural Emphasis -All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
