Tasks

-Recommends and prepares technical papers. -Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses. -Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies. -Prepares material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; reviews supplier data; witnesses shop tests, assists with assessing sup plier manufacturing capabilities. -Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract. -May plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering unit or project requiring a largescale expenditure of manpower and financial investment. -Conducts surveys, studies, and site investigations. Performs reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM) and safety analyses. -Develops operation and maintenance plans; develops standard operating procedures; prepares O & M manuals and may conduct onsite training of personnel. -Provides input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project. The engineer will be required to carry out CAD related tasks while using special 3D software and model creation. -Leads other Engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Improvement Process. -Preparation of technical specifications and design reports. Shall be conversant with the British and American codes as well as DEWA / DM regulations for the design of wastewater systems. -Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. May assist with other administrative and technical duties.

What You Bring

-Must possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project. -Requires advance engineering knowledge in design of urban water supply and irrigation systems. Familiarity with CAD (Civil 3D) and other PC software packages typically associated with wet services engineering is also required. Knowledge of latest software like Civil 3D, Dynamo, Python, Open Roads, Open Utilities, GIS is preferred. -Regional/international experience of water systems design and management strategies in comparable situations. We are looking for a team player with strong inter-personal, communication and excellent report writing skills. -UAE experience is preferred. -Shall have experience of liaising with service providers agencies for obtaining NOCs and Design Approvals, etc. -Experience in on-the-job training and mentoring in pressure system design and management skills. -Master's degree would be preferred. -Minimum 8+ years of related design work experience in water/ wasterwater/ wet utilities projects. -Potential to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required. -Working knowledge of planning, designing and construction of water supply systems, including Water treatment, pumping systems, intake structures, etc., -Shall have basic experience in creating utility cross sections as per requirements of local authorities in the Gulf region like RTA (Dubai), DMT (Abu Dhabi), MOMRA (KSA), etc. -Shall be familiar with load demand calculations for large private developments and/ or large government projects. Shall be conversant with Water / Irrigation / Firefighting Authority regulations such as DEWA, ADDC/ ADWEA, DM, ADM, DCD, ADCD and other relevant authorities within gulf region. -The engineer shall be able to independently carry out designs of collection, conveyance, and disposal of pressure networks. The engineer shall have advance experience and knowledge of preparing and developing hydraulic models for pressure network, design reports and conversant with design software like Bentley WaterCAD / WaterGems, Bentley Hammer and WANDA software. Knowledge of latest software like Civil 3D, Dynamo, Python, Open Roads, Open Utilities, GIS is preferred. -Bachelor's degree in Civil / Water/ Wastewater /Environmental Engineering (or related field).
