Tasks

-Maintain a robust pipeline, including the development of acquisition opportunities, transaction execution and decision support analysis -Ensure professional engineering oversight, including review, approval, and stamping of plans, as needed, while supporting team licensure and training -Work collaboratively with other leaders to establish and achieve the organization's strategic priorities and mission. This includes developing and executing cross-department initiatives and building internal and external relationships needed for success -Source, direct, and evaluate new opportunities that are within the organization's strategic growth and development plans -Mentor and develop high-performing teams, including engineering managers, project leaders, and technical staff, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth -Ensure appropriate allocation of business development resources to meet business goals -Ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of projects by guiding team performance, resource allocation, and risk management strategies -Develop and oversee departmental budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators to ensure operational and financial targets are met -Define, document, and implement a formal strategy encompassing target market approach, objectives, and performance goals -Lead all substation and distribution operations, overseeing engineering, project management, technical standards, and client delivery -Establish and enforce technical standards, QA/QC processes, and regulatory compliance protocols

What You Bring

-Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and large project portfolios -Demonstrated experience managing large power utility programs or portfolios -Knowledge with applicable IEEE / EIC codes and standards -Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives through strategic decisions by earning trusted and professional advisory relationships -Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with strong negotiation and presentation abilities -15+ years of progressive distribution or substation engineering and project experience in the power utility industry, including 5+ years in leadership roles -Excellent client relationship management skills, with a track record of building long-term partnerships in the utility sector -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field from an ABET-accredited program (required) -Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation), project management tools, and utility-specific platforms -Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration (preferred) -Memberships and active participation in discipline specific professional organizations such as IEEE -Valid Driver’s License -Deep understanding of power utility systems, including substation and distribution design -Strategic thinking and business acumen, including experience managing budgets, forecasts, and department-level financials -Professional Engineers License required
