The Role

Overview

Internship/co‑op in materials testing (concrete, soil, asphalt) for civil/engineering students

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Performing sampling or testing as directed. -Cleans equipment, vehicles and work areas -Providing assistance to other field and/or laboratory personnel -Preparing reports -Execute projects safely, accurately, and profitably -Learning industry standard proposals and report writing practices -Effectively write a proposal -Assisting technicians or professional staff on routine tasks -Transporting equipment, specimens or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and providing physical assistance in equipment set-up. -Provide a high level of client experience to our client. -Correctly manage change orders.

-Learning about laboratory organization, scheduling, and efficiency -Learning site safety and safe work practices -Learn about quality management systems and procedures -Understanding test procedures (ASTM, DOT, COE, etc.) -Learning how to communicate test results to clients
