The Role

Overview

Assist in planning, designing, and delivering civil street and drainage projects for Houston.

Tasks

-Prepare maps and technical reports. -Developing hydrologic and 1D/2D hydraulic models, to preparing plans, specifications and estimates and performing data collection and field work. -Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) for project documentation, data analysis, and communication. -Prepare and review technical documents, reports, and correspondence in compliance with applicable standards and specifications. -Provide technical review support for other projects to support drainage and street design discipline. -Develop cost estimates and conduct quantity takeoffs for design projects. -Assist in the planning, design, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects, including street and drainage improvements.

What You Bring

-Passed Fundamentals Exam (EIT) is a plus -Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word) -2 years’ experience on public works projects preferred; Experience with City of Houston projects is a plus -Utilize AutoCAD or MicroStation for design tasks; proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is considered a strong advantage. -Good communication and project management skills -1+ year consulting experience for civil infrastructure projects -Familiar with creating engineer’s estimates/material take-offs or with reading contract bid forms. -General understanding of standards and specifications for street and drainage projects. -Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering or Architecture required -AutoCAD or MicroStation experience; AutoCAD Civil 3D or AutoCAD Revit experience is a plus. -Experience assisting in creation of construction specifications or project manuals for street and drainage projects is a plus
