The Role

Overview

Manage fleet vehicles and equipment, ensuring performance, safety, and cost efficiency.

Tasks

-Coordinating and scheduling regular maintenance and repairs for all vehicles and equipment in the fleet. This includes routine inspections, servicing, and addressing any issues to keep the fleet in optimal condition. -Maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs. -Involved in the process of acquiring new vehicles and equipment for the construction company. This can involve researching options, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and ensuring that new additions meet the company's needs and standards. -Manage the budget for fleet operations and report on expenses. -Manage fuel usage, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities. -Handle the acquisition of new vehicles and equipment, including negotiation with suppliers. -Develop and implement training programs for drivers and equipment operators. -Monitor fleet performance and optimize resource allocation to meet operational needs.

What You Bring

-Excellent organizational skills and construction knowledge. -Valid driver's license and clean driving record. -post-secondary education, such as a degree or diploma in a related field, and/or relevant combination of experience. -Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions. -Strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance practices and regulatory requirements. -Evidence of exceptional leadership skills and ability to influence and work within informal teams. -Good communication, and problem-solving skills -6+ experience in the fleet management role, preferably in the construction industry. -Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office including MS Project. -Understand and adhere to Bird’s safety management system, policies, procedures, and values.
