Overview

Prepares and submits construction project quotes, manages costs, and ensures safety.

Tasks

-Participates in bid reviews with other estimators as necessary -Proactively identifies and halts unsafe work practices, and promptly reports them to management to ensure a safe work environment -Monitor costs, including labor and time -Promotes Cantera’s culture of “Safety First” -Develops client relationships for current and future jobs -Participate in the job turnover processes with other members of the Cantera leadership team -Communicates with Safety Professionals to ensure a safe workplace -Prepare job cost budget -Assist Project Managers with pricing of change orders -Prepare quantity takeoffs and estimates in a timely manner -Solicit vendor quotes -Identifies and quantifies construction elements -Prepare proposals and acquire bid bonds

What You Bring

Work Experience The Estimator is responsible for preparing and submitting quotes on the project(s) assigned to achieve safe, quality, and profitable projects completed in a timely manner. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills. -Excellent time management and organizational skills -OSHA 10 Certified -Strong attention to detail -Must be comfortable with travel on an as needed basis -Two (2) years Concrete Experience -Able to engage in a variety of tasks, and consistently meet deadlines -Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam -Strong written and verbal communication skills, both internally and externally -Strong decision-making/problem-solving skills -CPR Certified -First Aid Certified -Four (4) years of Construction Experience with no formal education required -Strong mathematical skills -Able to perform duties independently
