Production Worker (Night Shift)

Overview

Full‑time night‑shift production worker grinding, polishing & handling stone countertops

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Prepares and cuts edging pieces to size as per specifications. Laminates stacked or mitered edges using correct process and adhesives -Utilizes computer systems to update order status, and mark progress -Unloads parts from work areas onto storage/shipping frames as required -Polishes, fills and repairs areas to remove surface defects -Sets up work area by loading stone tops onto carts, using safe lifting practices and mechanical lift support when required -Attends and participates in team huddles and training activities -Grinds, polishes, contours, measures and inspects stone tops to conform to template specifications -Maintains a safe work area, clean and clear of debris and clutter. Using water at all times to remove silica dust from the environment -Reviews technical drawings of stone tops to understand edging requirements and dimensions -Supports loading and unloading of equipment with guidance for efficient operation -Reviews workspace for cleanliness and safety

-Strong communication (both written and verbal) -RRSP matching -Experience using grinders and polishers an asset -Have the ability to read units of measurements -Must be hardworking, motivated, well organized and task oriented -Possess a valid Driver’s License and clear criminal record check -Must be able to follow safety rules and work safely around equipment, cranes and forklifts -Basic computer skills, MS office -Demonstrate knowledge of hand woodworking tools and operate power tools such as table saw, chop saw, grinders, polishers etc. -1-Year experience in a similar role with polishing on natural stone and engineered quartz an asset or experience auto detailing considered transferrable skills
