Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of multidiscipline projects with varying degrees of technical complexity
Communicate with staff and subconsultants to establish work priorities for projects
Interface with clients as needed for successful project delivery. Address client requirements and manage client expectations regarding scope, schedule and quality on projects
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions
Assists in determining project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs
Performs periodic site visits and attends client meetings
Prepare proposals and directly interfaces with clients and agencies
Assist in managing multidiscipline project design teams for projects across the Pacific, including subconsultants, and establish priorities, schedules, and scope of work
Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests
Participates in office business development strategy and implementation
Coordinate structural design with staff along with other disciplines to meet project schedules and budgets
Mentors entry-level and junior staff
Lead/Assist in leading and managing projects including the preparation of engineering design and construction documents

Experience effectively interacting with staff, vendors, clients and agencies
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required; Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required. Ability to obtain PE in Hawaii or with the ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire
Understanding of NAVFAC Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build delivery methods desired
12+ years of structural design experience
Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port & Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE) certification in the Port Engineering category preferred
Due to client parameters, selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of U.S. citizenship and clear results of a thorough background check that may include but is not limited to credit and criminal history
Works effectively independently and collaboratively in a team environment
