Tasks

-Prepares purchase orders through a computerized system and places orders for the purchase of goods and services. -Timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work. -Reconciles purchase orders/ invoicing issues. -Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations. -Compares quotes with specifications and availability of items. -Work is performed primarily in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet. Have a high level of social contact. They work closely with students and other office staff. Communicate with people daily by telephone, e-mail, and in person. Are occasionally placed in conflict situations in which others may become rude or unpleasant. Work as part of a team. -Ensures that the procurement process and documentation is in compliance with the Acquisition Policy and Procedures Manual. -Reviews orders for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with existing policies and procedures. -Obtains oral and written price quotes for commodities and services from vendors. -Participates in meetings and conference calls with internal and external personnel as required. -Reviews purchase requests; discusses requirements with Center department heads and vendors; examines price, suitability, and availability of items or services; compares specifications and reviews alternatives to ensure purchase requests are fulfilled. -Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives. -Obtains appropriate commodities and services in a timely manner to support production processes and schedules. -Expedites deliveries and or slows down deliveries as required in order to maintain optimal inventory levels. -Organizes, updates, and retains product information files and purchase order records.

What You Bring

-Timely and cost-effective performance of duties. -Compliance with company standard operating procedures and personnel policies and procedures. -Associate’s degree. -Communicating effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of Center staff and students. -Valid driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record. -Adherence to established company safety policies and ability to work in a safe manner, using any required personal protective equipment (PPE) as may be required. -Successfully pass a background check and drug test. -This position requires the employee to be able to frequently required to sit, stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Work somewhat close to other people, such as when sharing office space. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. -Three (3) years progressively responsible purchasing and procurement experience: -Completion of government contracting classes. -Ability to develop rapport and positive working relationships with all departments -An equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties and functions of the job may be substituted for Associate’s Degree. -Training or experience in using the Federal Acquisition Regulation.
