The Role
Overview
Assist senior engineers on plumbing design projects using Revit and analysis tools.

Tasks
-Learns company technical standards and procedures during the execution of projects for clients -Observes and learns the industry standards and practices of design analyses using industry software -Under supervision, performs computer-based engineering calculations and system design functions -Assists project team in the development of technical documentation, proposals, and presentations -Actively attends internal and external training and other educational opportunities to obtain knowledge in necessary technical areas -Assists in the development of man-hour budgets and performs tasks in accordance with the budget -Attends and participates in meetings with owners, clients, or architects as needed -May assist the Project Manager in facilitating some project duties as required (e.g., attending/leading meetings, coordinating with clients, or other project facilitation activities) -Assists with production of designs using Revit and/or CADD and oversees design development by designers as assigned -Under supervision, assists in the execution of design processes and analysis on assigned projects and requests assistance from senior design staff when needed -May train EIT I on industry software, engineering standards, and/or codes -Assists the design team in the coordination of project designs with other disciplines to determine equipment needs, provide input for operating procedures, and provide technical information -Accompanies senior design staff in performing project job site visits to investigate field conditions and monitor progress based on design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes -Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, schematics, and engineering reports -Communicates design requirements with architects, contractors, and equipment sales representatives to determine project scope and feasibility

What You Bring
-Speech Clarity – ability to speak clearly and in a common language so that others can understand you -Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) -Judgement and Decision-Making Skills – ability to make reasoned judgments that are logical and well thought out; constructively questioning and analyzing information in order to make the best conclusion -Knowledge of drafting and design procedures and standards -Interpersonal Skills– ability to interact positively and work effectively with others -Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and be certified EIT with a state licensure board -Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college with two years applicable experience -Knowledge of discipline specific software (i.e., Trace700 and SKM) -Technical Writing Skills – skilled in the area of summarizing or explaining technical information in a clear, concise, and accurate way, communicating the point intended -Written Communication Skills – ability to clearly deliver a message through written words using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation -Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations -Detail-Oriented – ability to achieve accuracy and thoroughness when accomplishing a task; pays attention to details and is able to understand the cause of a certain outcome -Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD -Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies -Comprehension – ability to understand information, ideas, and direction presented in writing and/or verbally communicated
