Tasks

Using asset management principles, the post holder will manage data using Pavement and Routine Maintenance Management Systems to identify areas of work from condition surveys and defect information. As part of our small but dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in managing Cornwall’s highway network. Using asset management principles, you will commission and oversee both maintenance and improvement works, ensuring our roads are safe, efficient, and well-maintained. You will manage data using Pavement and Routine Maintenance Management Systems to identify areas of work and build annual programmes within available budgets. -Develop and coordinate annual work programmes in alignment with budget constraints and asset management objectives. -Ensure all work is carried out in adherence to relevant Health & Safety regulations. -Support insurance claims and legal proceedings by gathering relevant data and providing court statements as required. -Conduct on-site audits and inspections of contractor work, resolving queries and approving variations where necessary. -Assess and evaluate requests for surface treatments from service providers, local members, and the public. -Manage data using Pavement and Routine Maintenance Management Systems to pinpoint maintenance needs based on surveys and defect reports. -Liaise with network staff and service providers to plan and programme maintenance works effectively. -Monitor and manage works orders, ensuring optimal budget utilisation.

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Highways and Environment team at Cormac. We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of all our service users, clients and customers. If the role is working with vulnerable individuals and/or children and young people, you will be asked to complete a relevant DBS check to be successfully appointed to the role. -CSCS Card, NRSWA Supervisors Certificate and CITB site manager health and safety certificate. -HNC in Civil Engineering or other appropriate subject, or significant experience in Highway/Transportation Infrastructure. -Good and proven level of IT skills -Experience of contract detail and specifications -Streetworks and Health and Safety experience -Ability to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision -Substantial experience of highways maintenance and construction including previous supervisory experience. -Knowledge of measurement and valuation of highways works
