Tasks

-Use DSS and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements in the PWS. -Plan the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on projected workload on a weekly or monthly basis. -Ensures area of responsibility is operating in agreement with all referenced DLA Distribution SOPs, addendums, FRAGOS, and Process Manuals as required for day to day operational processing and preparation for any audit event. -The Transportation Manager manages a team of Transportation Specialists. -Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences IAW general work schedules, methods, and policies established by the Site Manager and/or Alternate Site Manager. -Ensure work is done properly and efficiently IAW the terms and conditions of the contract. -Redirect workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations. Conducts planning of current and future work schedules, providing workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as to the scheduling of projected work. -Direct employees engaged in planning outbound shipping loads, scheduling movement of outbound shipments to include air, surface, small parcel, and sea IAW all applicable contracts, DFTS, SDDC Global Freight Management System (GFMS) applications, and completing required documentation and data entry functions to include Bills of Lading (BOLs), manifests and all other forms of transportation documentation. -Responsible for compliance with the Audit Assertion Program reporting and documentation requirements, to include monthly assertion reporting that assigned areas of responsibility are ready for audit and or corrective action plans are documented and being corrected if an assertion cannot be made.

What You Bring

-Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite of products including, Word, Excel, Access and E-mail business software. -DLA experience is a plus -Have a current US Government SECRET Clearance or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered Investigation. -Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a Team. -Be able to maintain a US Government SECRET clearance. -Must have experience in following policies and procedures -Must have the ability to organize and coordinate workload to meet deadlines. -Excellent writing and interpersonal skills are required. -Experience shall include a minimum three (3) years of experience in transportation using DSS or equivalent automated WMS within the past five (5) years. -Must be accurate and have good analytical skills. -Must have experience drafting business correspondence and written communication. -Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail. -High school diploma or GED required
